Mohini Dey, AR Rahman's bassist, confirms their separation from husband Mark Hartsuch just hours after the singer's divorce was announced
After over thirty years of marriage, composer AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu announced their separation Tuesday night. Bassist Mohini Dey, who plays in AR Rahman's band, unexpectedly disclosed that she and her husband, composer Mark Hartsuch, had split up. Mohini and Mark jointly posted on Instagram to share the news. "Dear friends, family, fans, and followers," they wrote. Mark and I regretfully declare that we are no longer together. First, this is a mutual understanding that we have made to our friends and family. Even though we are still very close friends, we have both come to the conclusion that we have different goals in life, and that the best course of action was to separate by mutual consent.
"We will continue to collaborate on a number of projects, including MaMoGi and Mohini Dey groups," Mohini Dey and Mark Hartsuch continued. We have always taken great satisfaction in our ability to collaborate, and we have no plans to stop anytime soon. Our main goal is to spread love to everyone on the planet.
